Surrender to Jesus

There are moments in life when everything narrows down to one simple choice: hold on tighter, or let go.

Surrender is not weakness. It’s honesty. It’s the recognition that we cannot heal ourselves, save ourselves, or carry the full weight of our own brokenness. Whether you’re full of faith or full of questions, the invitation is the same — bring what you have and come as you are.

Some people hesitate because they feel unsure. “What if I don’t even know if I believe?” But faith often begins with a simple, sincere cry for help. God is not waiting for perfect theology. He responds to humility. When we ask Him to remove our sin, our pain, and our shame, He meets us there.

Others may already know Him, but life has become heavy again. Old habits return. Discouragement creeps in. The heart drifts. The answer isn’t self-condemnation — it’s renewed surrender. Grace is not a one-time event; it’s an ongoing relationship. The same Jesus who saved you is the One who continues to restore you.

We tend to think we must clean ourselves up before coming to God. But the gospel works the opposite way. We come in our mess, and He does the cleansing. We bring our weakness, and He provides strength. We bring our emptiness, and He fills it.

When we lay everything at His feet — our control, our fear, our striving — something changes. He begins a deeper work inside us. Not just behavior modification, but transformation of the heart. He reshapes our desires. He restores clarity. He even restores sanity where chaos once ruled.

And the work He begins is not accidental. It has purpose. God is actively forming something in you — something meaningful, something eternal. He is not finished.

Surrender is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of renewal.

If your heart feels tired, conflicted, or burdened, start there. Lay it down. Trust that the One who calls you is faithful to complete what He starts.

And let grace do what effort never could.

So tonight, whether for the first time or the hundredth time, come back to surrender.

“Lord Jesus, make us clean. Do Your miracle in our hearts. Restore us. And carry the good work You’ve started in us to completion.”

Amen.
